Karnali is one of the remote areas of Nepal and rafting at Karnali region is a great chance to explore rural Nepal via waterways. Karnali River originated from Mt. Kailash in Tibet that flows down all the way through beautiful gorges, forests and landscapes. With world class rapids to paddle through, it is a perfect river trip for you if you are looking for once in a lifetime rafting adventure in Nepal.

Karnali river rafting trip starts as we take a long drive from Kathmandu to Kohalpur, stay overnight at hotel and drive further for couple of hours to arrive at put in point of Dhungeshwor. Or you can also have an option to board a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and drive towards put in point from there. We enjoy this river rafting adventure for next whole week during which we setup tented camp at river banks each day. Full board hygienic meals will be provided during the rafting days and finally after put out point we drive back to Kathmandu. Or drive towards Nepalgunj and fly to Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary

Travel from Kathmandu to our put in point at Dhungeshwor

We start our Karnali River Rafting Adventure as we enjoy long 17 hours driving from Kathmandu to Kohalpur. We stay for a night in hotel at Kohalpur before heading for further seven to eight hours of drive to our put in point Dhungeshwor. Our team leader will do safety briefing before embarking for our amazing Karnali rafting trip from Dhungeshwor. After few hours of paddling we setup our first night camp at riverside.

Day 3 – 9:

During our river rafting days, we enjoy the beauty of nature while rafting down gentle rapids of Karnali River and feel an extra bit of adventure while setting up tented camp at river banks for overnight stay. Enjoy the great views of forests, waterfalls while getting attention of local people. Get thrilled while crossing the rapids like ‘Gods House’ and other popular exciting rapids like ‘Flip and Strip’, ‘Juicer’ and ‘Freight Train’ before we end our trip.
